About this service

A semi tractor is a revenue machine with a hard life. It runs loaded, at speed, in every weather, and it does it on a schedule that does not move. Every system on a tractor is either working or costing money — which is why a fault caught early is worth several times the same fault caught on the shoulder of the interstate at 2am.

What semi truck repair involves

Fifth wheel, kingpin and coupling

Worn or cracked fifth-wheel plates, damaged jaws and locks, release handle faults, mounting bolts and frame brackets. A coupling failure is catastrophic, so these are inspected and repaired properly.

Air brakes and air supply

The complete tractor air system: compressor, dryer, governor, tanks, foot valve, relay valves, tractor protection valve and gladhands, plus the service and parking brakes themselves. Tractor-trailer air faults often turn out to be a tractor-side valve or a leaking line.

Engine and fuel system

Starting problems, power loss, fuel starvation, injector and high-pressure fuel faults, turbo and charge-air leaks, coolant loss and the sensor and aftertreatment faults behind most active engine lamps.

Driveline and transmission

Clutch adjustment and replacement, release-bearing noise, driveline vibration, universal joints, carrier bearings, transmission faults and differential noise or seepage.

Cab, electrical and HVAC

No-start faults, battery drain, lighting and trailer wiring, dash and gauge faults, starter and alternator failures, air conditioning that has stopped cooling, and the bunk and cab electrical faults that make a truck miserable to live in.

Suspension, steering and tyres

Air bag and shock faults, leaking or worn steering gear, drag links and tie-rod ends, kingpins, alignment-related tyre wear, and wheel-end seal and bearing faults.
