Truck Equipment & Body Repair

Liftgates, cranes, winches, plows, spreaders, PTOs, dump beds and aerial units repaired where the truck is parked, so the equipment goes back to earning.

About this service

The chassis gets the attention, but the equipment bolted to it is what the customer actually pays for. A truck with a dead liftgate cannot deliver, a plow truck with a hydraulic leak is useless the night of the storm, and a crane truck with a failed winch is not an asset at all.

Truck equipment repair covers the mounted systems: the bodies, the hydraulics, the electrical controls and the mechanical drives that make a commercial truck do its job. We repair that equipment on site wherever the truck is parked, because a liftgate or a plow does not need a shop bay to be fixed — it needs a technician who knows the system.

What truck equipment repair involves

Liftgates and tail lifts

Won't rise, won't lower, drifts down under load, bypasses internally, or will not latch. Hydraulic power units, cylinders, control valves, solenoids, remote pendants, and the structural mounts that crack when the gate is overloaded.

Cranes, booms and winches

Worn cables and hooks, failed winch motors and brakes, leaking swing and lift cylinders, control valve faults, outrigger problems, and the structural cracking that has to be repaired properly rather than patched on a load-bearing component.

Plows and spreaders

Plow hydraulic circuits, angling and lift cylinders, plow lighting, controller faults, salt spreader augers, spinner drives, conveyor chains and the wiring that gets destroyed by brine every winter.

PTO and pump drives

PTO engagement faults, shaft and driveline wear, pump couplers, hydraulic pump replacement, and the alignment problems that destroy a PTO in a few hundred hours.

Dump beds and roll-offs

Bed hydraulic circuits, telescopic and underbody cylinder faults, tailgate and latch problems, hoist frames, roll-off winch and cable systems, and the structural repair of beds that have been overloaded.

Aerial and bucket units

Boom and bucket hydraulics, turret rotation, insulation and leveling systems, control pendants and outrigger faults, repaired in coordination with the unit's inspection requirements.

Equipment electrical

Motors, solenoids, relays, limit switches, controllers, pendants, joysticks and the chafed, wet, corroded wiring behind so many intermittent equipment faults.

Common problems we are called for

If any of the following sounds familiar, call dispatch and describe it — it helps us send the right technician and the right parts on the first trip.

  • Liftgate slow, drifting down, or dead in one direction
  • Crane or boom function not holding under load
  • Plow will not angle, lift or hold position
  • Spreader auger or spinner not turning
  • PTO will not engage or makes a grinding noise
  • Dump bed hoist slow, spongy, or failing to lower
  • Winch cable, hook or brake failure
  • Bucket truck turret or outrigger fault
  • Intermittent equipment faults in wet weather
  • Hydraulic oil leaking from the equipment circuit

How Allday Fleet Solutions helps

Equipment faults are usually a small number of systems failing in predictable ways — hydraulics, electrical control, or mechanical drive. We work the system methodically and test it under load, because an equipment fault that only appears when the gate is loaded will not show up in an empty yard test.

Because we also do hydraulic hose work and welding, an equipment repair rarely needs a second vendor. A cracked mount, a blown hose and a failed solenoid can all be dealt with in the same visit by the same technician.

For fleets running seasonal equipment — plow and spreader trucks especially — we schedule pre-season servicing so the fleet is ready before the first weather event rather than calling us during it.

Where this applies

We handle truck equipment repair across the commercial vehicle types below and more. If your unit is not listed, call anyway — the list is not exhaustive.

  • Dump trucks and roll-off trucks
  • Plow and salt spreader trucks
  • Crane and boom trucks
  • Bucket and aerial lift trucks
  • Tow trucks and car carriers
  • Tanker and vacuum trucks
  • Service body and utility trucks
  • Refuse and recycling trucks

What you get

  • Equipment repaired on site instead of in a shop queue
  • Hydraulics, controls, welding and hoses handled by one vendor
  • Load-testing so an intermittent fault is actually found
  • Pre-season servicing for plow and spreader fleets
  • Structural repairs on mounts and frames done properly
  • Seasonal scheduling so equipment is ready when you need it

Where this repair can be done

Both options are available to you. The technician will tell you which one your repair actually needs before any work starts.

Mobile Truck Repair

Most equipment repair is done where the truck is parked: hydraulics, controls, electrical, hoses and structural welding.

Questions

Truck Equipment Repair — frequently asked

My liftgate works empty but fails when loaded. Can you diagnose that?

That is a classic internally bypassing cylinder or a worn pump, and it is exactly why we test equipment under load rather than in an empty yard. A loaded test tells us whether the fault is the cylinder, the pump, a relief valve or a control issue.

Do you repair snow plow and spreader trucks?

Yes, and pre-season servicing is the smartest way to buy it. Rather than calling during the first storm, fleets have us go through the plow hydraulics, controls, lighting and spreader drives before winter so equipment is known-good when the weather turns.

Can you repair a crane or boom truck on site?

Hydraulic, electrical and control faults on crane and boom equipment are commonly repaired on site. Structural repair to a load-bearing component is treated with the seriousness it deserves, and any work that interacts with the unit's inspection status will be explained to you clearly.

Do you supply replacement parts for equipment?

We source components through our supply chain and carry common fast-moving parts on the service trucks. For less common items we will give you an honest lead time before any work starts.

Can you service several pieces of equipment in one visit?

Yes. Give dispatch a list of the units and the faults and we will schedule the visit to cover them all, which is far cheaper for you than a separate call-out per truck.
